Marjorie Nell Conner Owens, 92, of Pensacola, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve and Callie Conner, and was born and raised in the Darlington, Florida area. She had resided in Pensacola for over 70 years. Mrs. Owens was a long time active member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working with other church activities. She was employed for about 12 years by the Gayfers Company at Town and Country Plaza and Cordova Mall, where she was buyer for the candy and cards department. Mrs. Owens was a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church quilting group, which she enjoyed along with her other hobbies of knitting and reading a good book. Her main concentration in life was in providing a good home for her family, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Owens is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William T. Owens, an infant daughter, her mother and father, and two sisters, Faye Norton and Johnnie Gesualdi. Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Diane Gaston (Joel) of Pensacola and Mrs. Kathy Cogle of Fairhope, Alabama; a son, William T. Owens Jr. (Theresa) of Slidell, Louisiana; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:30am to 11:00am, followed by funeral services at 11:00am, and burial in the Pensacola Memorial Gardens cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
