Margie Ruth Martin 1942-2021
On January 21, 2021, Margie Ruth Martin, 78, entered Heaven’s Gate. She was born on July 9, 1942 to Archie G. and Irene Townson Levins in Century, FL. Margie graduated from Tate High School, Class of 1960. She married Paul “Bill” Beasley and had two sons, Jackie and Tony. Margie worked as a Billing and Insurance Specialist in a local physician’s office, as well as the medical Center Clinic. She then met and married the love of her life, Claude E. Martin; they enjoyed traveling across the country, visiting family and friends. Margie had a love for painting. Her Paintings of landscapes and countrysides were admired by her family and friends. Margie also had a passion for singing, she sang soprano. As a young woman, she traveled along with her parents, her young sons and her sister to churches across the South, from Century to Mississippi, singing Gospel Hymns. In her later years, she enjoyed singing Hymns while her special friend, Michelle played guitar. Margie was an active member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church for many years, until her health began to decline. Margie is predeceased by her parents, Archie G. Levins and Irene Townson Levins; brother, Olen D. “Red” Levins; husband, Claude E. Martin; granddaughter, Jacqueline Beasley Killingsworth. Margie is survived by sons, Jackie (Robbin) Beasley, Tony (Angie) Beasley; grandchildren, Amanda Beasley, Daniel Beasley, Amanda Whitfield; great grandchildren, LCpl. Tristan Reinert, Becca and Shelby Killingsworth, Vanessa and Victoria Fuqua, Ethan Beasley and Serenity Amey; sister, Betty (Pete) Harris, brothers, Arlen (bobbi) Levins, James (Barbara) Levins, Johnnie (Jean) Levins, sister-in-law, Brenda Barnes; numerous special nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who took care of Margie during her stay at Sacred Heart Hospital and Covenant Hospice. An extra special thank you to Dr.’s Bercz, Smart, Shaghier and Carmona. A tremendous heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Covenant Hospice Sacred Heart IPU for their timeless care and dedication given to Margie. Thank you, Janelle, Summer, Amber, Lisa, Mary and Sandy!! A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00am at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
