Judith Colon
Judith Ann Merritt Colon was born October 11, 1940 in Pensacola, Florida. She was a life-long resident of Pensacola, Florida and she passed peacefully at home on April 10, 2021 at the age of 80. She married the love of her life, Fernando L. Colon, Sr. on January 16, 1958 and they were married for 63 years. Preceded in death by her father, William Merritt, her mother Maude Hammac Merritt, her siblings, Lizzie Tatum, Rosie Lee Hayes, Frances Frise, J.B. Merritt, Marion Merritt, Ellis Merritt, Coley Merritt, Bruce Merritt, Clarence Merritt, Dewey Merritt and 1 granddaughter, Angeline Trahan. Judy is survived by her husband, Fernando L. Colon, Sr.; 4 sons Fernando L. Colon, Jr. (Kathi); Carlos Colon (Sandra); Victor Colon (Mina); Gary Colon (Renee); and 1 daughter, Michele Colon Trahan (Skip). 9 grandchildren: Crissy Goodmiller, Christopher Colon, Catie Colon Goodwin, Brandon Colon, Camille Colon Whitfield, Jillian Colon, Austin Trahan, Caleb Colon and Joey Trahan. 7 great-grandchildren: Ember Colon, Thessaly Goodmiller, Patrick Ward, Cameron Goodwin, Calliope Goodmiller, Kelli Goodwin and Jordan Whitfield. 2 sisters: Myrtle Aliberti and Alice Ziegler-Grillo. Judy was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family as much as she could including kids that she babysat over the years. She always treated kids as her very own. Judy also loved her job of 22 years being a tax preparer at H&R Block. She enjoyed helping her clients with their taxes and getting to know them and their families. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. A visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on April 15th at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on April 15th at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Scenic Hwy. Associate Pastor Ron Pouliot will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your church or your favorite charity in her honor.
